Chelsea have secured a place in the Carabao Cup final with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
A first half goal from Antonio Rudiger was enough to secure the win on the night, while also ensuring that they held a 3-0 aggregate lead that put Thomas Tuchel’s side firmly in control.
While the Blues were excellent throughout, Tottenham did have moments of threat including two penalty appeals waved away by VAR, before Harry Kane found the back of the net, only to see it ruled out for offside.
Questions will be asked of Antonio Conte’s side in the aftermath but for Tuchel’s side it means that they have another shot at silverware as they await the winner of the two-legged tie between Liverpool and Arsenal.
- Final score: Tottenham 0 Chelsea 1 (0-3 on aggregate)
- Antonio Rudiger’s goal was enough to send Thomas Tuchel’s side through to the final where they’ll meet Liverpool or Arsenal at Wembley.
