The Northern Assembly has been unable to elect a Speaker and has been adjourned “until a future date.”
It means the Assembly can’t sit and is unable to conduct objects of enterprise.
The DUP introduced earlier than the session that it could not help the election of a Speaker till there’s “decisive action” from the UK authorities concerning the Northern Ireland protocol.
They had been condemned for this within the Assembly by the opposite primary events, who mentioned they had been able to elect a Speaker and to get again to enterprise.
Sinn Féin’s Stormont chief Michelle O’Neill mentioned the DUP was “punishing the public” and had been “holding society to ransom.”
