Oscars 2022: Will Smith apologises for slapping Chris Rock

Chris Rock’s brother Tony has insisted his would not approve of Will Smith’s apology after he smacked him throughout the face on the Oscars on Sunday evening.

The Males in Black actor, 53, stormed as much as the comedian and hit him after he made a joke about Will’s spouse Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.

Jada has beforehand spoken out about her shaved head – which is because of alopecia.

Earlier this week, Will despatched an apology to Chris, writing: “I would like to publicly apologise to you, Chris.

“I used to be out of line and I used to be incorrect. I’m embarrassed and my actions weren’t indicative of the person I need to be. There isn’t any place for violence in a world of affection and kindness.”

Will continued by explaining the rationale for his outburst, saying he was defending his spouse Jada.

“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive,” he added.

“My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about my Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.”

Over on Twitter, followers reacted to Will’s grovelling apology, with one individual asking Chris’ brother: “Do you approve of the apology?”

Tony merely responded: “No.”

A buddy of Will’s has claimed his stunning outburst on the Oscars was “triggered by his childhood trauma”.

His Oscar win is now “under review” following his behaviour, which he himself has admitted was “unacceptable and inexcusable”.

In response to sources, mates consider that Will was “triggered” to react violently after his childhood trauma.

They’ve prompt that Will might need recalled feeling helpless when he was 9 and witnessed his mum being overwhelmed by his father Willard Carroll Smith Sr.

An insider near Mark Manson, who co-wrote Will’s 2021 memoir, advised The Solar that he’s “horrified” by the flip of occasions and feels ashamed.

They continued to assert that Will is blissful to “have some for his unresolved childhood issues and will do what he can to make good on his momentary lapse in judgment”.
