Blackpool FC buy almost 100 acres of land for new training centre

Blackpool Soccer Membership have agreed to purchase nearly 100 acres of land for a brand new coaching centre.

The positioning for the Championship membership’s new base is situated alongside Garstang Highway and is bordered by the Grange Park Property and Baines Faculty.

The Seasiders have stated the power will home a “bespoke building” with altering, medical, teaching, health and schooling areas.

Initially with six grass pitches, one full-size synthetic pitch and a lined synthetic space, the positioning will probably be designed for one of many pitches to be a present pitch for improvement and under-18 video games.

Blackpool added that, when acceptable to take action, the power will allow the membership to progress from a class three to a class two academy.

In a press release, Blackpool stated: “The club has worked tirelessly to identify a suitable site for an elite training facility to house the first-team and Academy ever since its change of ownership in June 2019.

“A small number of preferred locations were then scrutinised and after careful deliberation this site, for first-team and academy use, presented a superb location to deliver the environment that Blackpool Football Club needs to progress.

“The membership has already performed the required pre-application planning conferences with Blackpool and Wyre Councils and can now undertake the remainder of the required work to have the ability to submit the planning utility on the earliest alternative.

“The club has also been fortunate to meet with local leaders and local MPs, who unanimously supported our plans.

“Through the months forward, we are going to have interaction with all of the native communities and stakeholders to make sure that the Planning Software is profitable as quickly as practicable.”
