South Australia’s Chief Health officer has denied rumours there are tensions between herself and Premier Steven Marshall.
Professor Nicola Spurrier was asked if she had resigned from her position when she returned to the daily coronavirus updates today.
“Why would I threaten to resign I’m here to handle a pandemic, not mess around,” Ms Spurrier said.
“Absolutely no to that sort of question.”
She said despite rumours she had resigned, or had been sick with COVID-19, she was still working as the CHO.
“I get on extremely well with the Premier. We spend a lot of time talking and we’ve worked extremely well in South Australia as a team.”
“I’m very happy with how we’ve managed the Omicron outbreak.”
